Finger-Licking Instant Pot Honey Garlic Chicken (Ermahgerd!)

  • 2 tbsp grapeseed oil
  • four rooster thighs (about 1 ½ kilos)
  • 1/Three cup honey
  • four cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp sesame seed oil
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • salt and black pepper, to style
  1. Season the rooster with salt and black pepper.
  2. Press the SAUTE button on the Instant pot and let stand till display screen reads “HOT”.
  3. Add the grapeseed oil.
  4. Add the rooster, pores and skin facet down and prepare dinner for 2-Three minutes per facet.
  5. In a small bowl mix the honey, garlic, ketchup, soy sauce, sesame seed oil and dried oregano.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to style.
  7. Pour the combination over the rooster.
  8. Close and seal the Instant Pot.
  9. Turn the venting knob to SEALING.
  10. Press the PRESSURE COOK button and verify to ensure the strain stage reveals as “High” on the show.
  11. Adjust the timer to 10 minutes.
  12. When completed cooking, let the strain come down naturally for 10 minutes, then fast launch the remainder of the strain.
  13. Open the lid.
  14. Remove the rooster from the pot.
  15. Press the SAUTE button on the Instant pot.
  16. Cook, stirring regularly, till the sauce has thickened to your liking.
  17. Taste and add extra salt and black pepper, if obligatory.
  18. Press the CANCEL button.
  19. Spoon the sauce over the rooster.
  20. Sprinkle with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
  21. Serve heat with rice.
